Fall might be one of my favorite times of year in Boise. The temperatures cool down, the foothills start changing color, and the city of trees shows its glory with all the Fall colors. There are so many reasons to get outside before winter arrives.
Whether you’re new to Boise, thinking about moving here, or just looking for something fun to do this fall, here are a few of my favorites.

## Fall in Boise with Kids

[Lowe Family Farmstead](https://www.lowefamilyfarmstead.com/fall-calendar) in Kuna, Idaho, is a no-brainer. If you have kids, this one is almost a requirement. Tractor-drawn hayrides, the infamous Corn Maze, farm-fresh food and lots of other activities for the whole family. The 2026 Season kicks off mid-September through October 31, and that includes weekday evenings and all day on Friday and Saturday.

[Cherry Hill Farms](https://cherryhillfarms.com/cornmaze-idaho/) in Caldwell, Idaho, is another fun event, similar to Lowe Family Farmstead. Corn maze, corn hole, farm animals, barrel cart rides, and more. It’s open September 25th through October 31st this year.

[Anderson Apple Ranch](https://andersonappleranch.com/) in Emmett, Idaho, is another great place to visit. Get a basket when you enter and pick your own apples. The cool thing is you can eat as many apples as you want on site, free of charge. Only pay for the apples you take home. No reservations required, and it’s open 10 AM to 6 PM Fridays and Saturdays from late September through October 31, 2026.

[The Botanical Gardens](https://www.idahobotanicalgarden.org/event/scarecrow-stroll) in Boise, Idaho are beautiful this time of year. The Scarecrow Stroll runs October 1st through November 1st with locally created scarecrows tucked throughout the gardens. Lots to do and see at the Gardens, especially in Fall.

## Fall Festivals in the Treasure Valley

[Eagle Harvest Fest](https://www.cityofeagle.org/303/Harvest-Fest) in Eagle, Idaho. Downtown Eagle is especially cute in the fall, and **Eagle Harvest Fest is October 10 from 10–4 at Heritage Park**. There will be live music, food, vendors, kids’ activities, blacksmith demonstrations, and 1,500 pumpkins being given away for kids to decorate and take home.

## Soak in Nature this Fall

Some of my favorite Fall activities are enjoying the beautiful outdoors from a toasty warm hot spring. Two of my favorites are [The Springs](https://www.thespringsid.com/) in Idaho City, Idaho, and [Gold Fork Hot Springs](http://www.goldforkhotsprings.com/) near Donnelly, Idaho. If you are feeling more adventurous, Kirkham Hot Springs near Lowman is great. Located along the South Fork Payette River, with natural pools and hot water cascading down the rocks.

Go see the Fall colors. You don’t need an event to enjoy Fall here. Take a drive in Boise’s [North End](https://welcometoboiseandbeyond.com/post/popular-boise-neighborhoods-the-north-end/), drive up Bogus Basin Road, take a hike at Camel’s Back Park or just walk the Boise River Greenbelt. Boise’s fall weather makes this one of the most beautiful and enjoyable times to get outside, and there are plenty of [hikes and outdoor activities](https://welcometoboiseandbeyond.com/boise-outdoor-activities/) within minutes of town.

## Thinking of making Boise home?

One of my favorite things about living in Boise is how easy it is to make a day out of almost anything. You can spend the morning at a pumpkin patch, hike in the foothills in the afternoon, or be soaking in a mountain hot spring a couple of hours later.

And if you’re considering [moving to Boise](https://welcometoboiseandbeyond.com/moving-to-boise/), [Meridian](https://welcometoboiseandbeyond.com/post/discover-living-in-meridian-idaho/), [Eagle](https://welcometoboiseandbeyond.com/living-in-eagle-idaho/), or anywhere in the Treasure Valley, these are the things I think matter just as much as the house itself. Finding the right home is also about finding the lifestyle and community that feel like you.

**Thinking about a move to Boise?** I offer a free 30-60-minute relocation consultation — no obligation, just a straight conversation about neighborhoods, timing, and what the move actually involves. [Book a time here](https://welcometoboiseandbeyond.com/schedule/).
